Happy Feast day St. Dominic Savio

Promise of holiness
Dominic Savio was born on April 2, 1842, in San Giovanni di Riva, near Chieri (Turin). On the occasion of his first communion, at the age of seven, he set out his life's programme: "I will go to Confession frequently and Communion as often as my confessor allows. I want to make Sundays and feast days holy. My friends will be Jesus and Mary. Death but not sin". At twelve, Don Bosco accepted him into the Oratory in Turin and Dominic asked his help in order to "become a saint". Gentle, serene and happy, he put great effort into fulfilling his duties as a student and helping his companions in every way he could, teaching them Catechism, assisting the sick and settling quarrels.
Road to holiness
One day he said to a companion, who had just arrived in the Oratory: "You should know that here we make holiness consist in being always cheerful. We just try to avoid sin, which is the great enemy that robs us of the grace of God and peace of heart, and we try to to fulfill our duties exactly." He was very faithful to his programme of work, sustained by intense participation in sacramental life, by a filial devotion to Mary and by joyful sacrifice. God enriched him with many special gifts.
Love for Mary
On December 8, 1854, when Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, Dominic consecrated himself to Mary and began to advance rapidly in holiness. In 1856, he founded the Immaculate Conception Sodality among his friends. This was a group dedicated to apostolic action and peer ministry.
Love for the Eucharist
Mamma Margaret, who had come to Turin to help her priest son, one day said to him: "You have many good boys, but no one surpasses the beauty of heart and soul of Dominic Savio". And she explained: "I see him always praying, even remaining in Church after the others; every day he leaves recreation to visit the Blessed Sacrament; when he is in Church, he is like an angel in Heaven". He died in Moriondo on March 9, 1857. His remains are in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin. His feast is celebrated on May 6. Pope Pius XI defined him as "A little, or rather, a great giant of the Spirit". He is patron of young choir singers.

Happy Feast day Blessed Eusebia Palomino

A little girl in Salamanca
Eusebia Palomino Yenes was born in Cantalpino in the province of Salamanca, in the west of Spain, the 15th December 1899. Agustine Palomino’s family was very poor. He was a man of faith. At certain times of the year Eusebia and her father had to go begging in nearby villages, but they did so with joy and singular faith.
Learning from her father
On those long journeys Augustine taught his daughter her faith, and she was keen to learn the mysteries of Our Lord. Eusebia worked, prayed and was loved in her family. The day of her first communion was one that Eusebia experienced intently. Soon after she was employed to help a well-to-do family. She did not stop giving attention to her growth as an adolescent, putting her friendship with Jesus in first place.
As a kitchen hand with the Sisters
She was sent to Salamanca, first to look after the children, then as an assistant in a hostel. She really wanted to become a Sister. One day, while hoeing, she found a medal of Mary Help of Christians. Soon afterwards a mysterious friend led her to the Sisters’ Oratory. They invited her to stay with them as a helper. Oddly enough the kitchen became her place for educating, and they would often trot along to the kitchen to get a kind word from this ignorant young kitchen lass.

Finally, a Salesian Sister
The Mother Vicar came to Salamanca and accepted her as a postulant. Eusebia made her novitiate at Barcellona, edifying her companions by her humility and with her smile. She became a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians in 1924, and was sent to Valverde del Camino  in the role of cook and domestic help. She began to carry out her ordinary service extraordinarily like Don Bosco had wanted, so much so that the Lord filled her with his gifts.
Girls attracted by her spirituality
The girls always wanted to be near her, attracted by her spirituality. She began to work in the Oratory. Seminarians, adults and priests asked her advice, encouraged by her spirit of prayer and convinced and convincing faith. She spread devotion to the Lord’s Holy Wounds and the so-called “Marian servitude” of Saint Louis  M. Grignion de Montfort. There is talk of many wonderful things that happened during her life.
A prophet
Like Don Bosco she had received the gift of prophecy from the Lord. She predicted the Spanish civil war and offered herself as a victim for Spain. Then she began to feel unwell. Her Director, Sr Carmen Moreno, who became a Martyr and Blessed, looked after her, while she gave some thought to her situation. Suor Eusebia prophesied her martyrdom.
Visions and death
Before she herself died she had visions and ecstasies. She went to the Lord on the 10th February 1933. John Paul II declared her Blessed on the 25th April 2004. Her body is laid to rest at Valverde.
Declared Venerable 17 December 1996; beatified 25 April 2004 by John Paul II

Reflection:

Gospel:
                Matthew17:1-9

Reflection:
The transfiguration of the Lord “his face became as dazzling as the sun, his clothes as radiant as light.
In this season of lent we are called to do penance and to be one journeying the Lord. In our life we have our own journey to. However along the way we can`t see the light because every things cover with darkness. Indeed when we are in the dark, some of us were sacred maybe some of us will be fainted because they were afraid off what happen to them. Indeed when we are in dark the temptation is very strong.
In our gospel today is the transfiguration of our Lord, he will remind us that he will give us light to guide us in-order to see clearly the way going to him. Jesus face became dazzling like the sun and his clothes as radiant in light. Hence Jesus will give us light if we open our hearts to welcome him to enter in us to give us light to our life of full of darkness.
Darkness it means is sin indeed sin is the one who separate us from the love of God. When we commit sin we are far from the Lord we feel that we are down and all the problems will come in us. Indeed in today’s gospel Jesus “face became as dazzling as the sun, his clothes as radiant as light”.
As a challenge to each and every one of us especially in this season of lent we are called to courageous and we look Jesus as our example to change and transform our lives and to dwell here in our hearts because Jesus will give us light to our darkness life.

And I will never forget your lovely presence
Because you makes me happy

Reflection:

Gospel:
Matthew 5:43-48

Reflection:
“Love you enemies, pray for your persecutor.” When we talk about Love this word is so very powerful that sometimes it can change lives, inspires and sometimes it builds us fire, destruction, problems, difficulties and hardships. Indeed each and every one of us we are called to Love, to love ourselves and also others. Loving others and ourselves it builds good relationships and it burst our self-confidence and most of all we know ourselves better. However sometimes love brings to us destruction most especially when people over used it. For example you have you bf/gf and because you are not contented to love one you find another gf/bf to another love one at the end you are being coughed by having dual relation. I am sure that this word will slap at your face “who among us do you love you most?” hence through this experience ire ill bring to you confusion and you cannot focus. Indeed the result of this it destroys your life because it brings hurts.
In our gospel today it will remind us to this commandment the commandment of LOVE. In fact we cannot Love without forgiveness. Hence if we forgive someone it means that you love him/her and you welcome them to dwell in your life. Even that’s you enemy that sometimes it makes you crazy but Jesus said Love those who persecutes you and pray for your enemies because our gospel to day speaks all about “Love you enemies and pray for your persecutor.”
As a challenge to all of us we are called to Love not only to love others but learn how to forgive them and most of all pray for them. Always remember that Jesus loves us. As a sign of his love to us he suffered and died on the cross because his love to us is immeasurable.

Reflection

Gospel:
         Matthew 5:20-26

Reflection :
In our life we really fall in committing sin. In fact temptation is everywhere because temptation is always in our side whether we like it or not. Devil is very cunning for those who really love the Lord and he will do his very best to tempt us and to fall into his trap.
Our gospel today remind us not to commit sin most especially killing human`s life. Indeed murder is mortal sin. According to CCC article 5, 2288 it says that human life is sacred because it is beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remain for ever in special relationship with the creation. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end and no one can under any circumstance. Claim him the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.
It is very clear in this article that we are not allowed to ki8ll because human life is precious and sacred. Indeed God made us in his image and likeness and we are called to be Holy because our Father in heaven is Holy. Jesus invites us today to love our brothers and sisters and shares that love to everyone because I believe that through love it will create peace, harmony and it builds good relationship to all of us to live peacefully. Therefore don`t kill life but preserve life because God gave us life.

Reflection

Gospel:

 Reflection :

In this season of lent it gives us many graces and most of all to nurture and deepen our spiritual life through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In today`s gospel Jesus emphasize the value of good request. According to the gospel of Matthew “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be pen to you, for the one who ask, receives. The one who seek, finds. The one who knocks enters.
In our life we have so many request some are good and some are bad. Indeed request in our life they are lining up which one to ask first and which is more important. Hence sometimes our request for our parents they are not being granted for example I like that shoes and a mother refuse to but it so in return we feel bad because our request was not being ranted.
Indeed our gospel today reminds us not to be discouraged and be patient in asking request because Matthew says “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be pen to you, for the one who ask, receives. The one who seek, finds. The one who knocks enters.
See it is very clear don`t be discourage but be hopeful because I believe at the end our wish or our request will come true because God knows where to give and not to give our request. He knows what the best is really for each and every one of us.
