Gospel:
Reflection:
In this season of lent
we will practice prayer, fasting and almsgiving in-order to nurture our
spiritual life. In our gospel today it talks about the value of prayer. Prayer
is to communicate with Lord. Indeed through prayer it helps us know more about
Jesus and most of all it builds good relationship between God. In fact Jesus
taught us how to pray indeed he introduce to us the Lord`s prayer commonly
known as Our Father. Jesus himself made this prayer for all of us.
In the lord`s prayer
there are four elements that Jesus emphasize and they are called ACTS. Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving
and Supplication as we pray the
father we adore God as we say “Our father who art in heaven hollow be thy name
thy kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”. We thank him
for all the blessings that he gave it to us every day for the food that we eat,
good health etc. Contrition as we ask God`s forgiveness of our sins that we
have done against him and to our neighbour. Lastly supplication we ask God for
guidance, safety as we travel every day and most of all security as we say
“Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Jesus invites us today
to pray to be one in him to our prayers, let pray together the prayer that
Jesus himself taught us. “Our father who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy
kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it in heaven give us this day our
daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil Amen.”
