This day we begin the Holy season of Lent a day of payer, penance and abstinence. Also in this day Ashes will be put on our fore heads as a sign that we are came from dust and then we return to dust. Ashes are a sign that we humble ourselves in front of our Lord Jesus Christ that we are sinners.
Here in the seminary we have penances as a community and
also as an individual. Our community penance is no morning snacks, one viand every
lunch and only soup during our dinner. For me it’s really difficult because eating
is one of my hobbies and I love to eat delicious food. However because in this season we are called
to do penances with open heart I will fully accept it because I believe that is
for the greater Glory of God and for the
salvation of souls in the purgatory.
