Reflection:

Gospel:
                Matthew17:1-9

Reflection:
The transfiguration of the Lord “his face became as dazzling as the sun, his clothes as radiant as light.
In this season of lent we are called to do penance and to be one journeying the Lord. In our life we have our own journey to. However along the way we can`t see the light because every things cover with darkness. Indeed when we are in the dark, some of us were sacred maybe some of us will be fainted because they were afraid off what happen to them. Indeed when we are in dark the temptation is very strong.
In our gospel today is the transfiguration of our Lord, he will remind us that he will give us light to guide us in-order to see clearly the way going to him. Jesus face became dazzling like the sun and his clothes as radiant in light. Hence Jesus will give us light if we open our hearts to welcome him to enter in us to give us light to our life of full of darkness.
Darkness it means is sin indeed sin is the one who separate us from the love of God. When we commit sin we are far from the Lord we feel that we are down and all the problems will come in us. Indeed in today’s gospel Jesus “face became as dazzling as the sun, his clothes as radiant as light”.
As a challenge to each and every one of us especially in this season of lent we are called to courageous and we look Jesus as our example to change and transform our lives and to dwell here in our hearts because Jesus will give us light to our darkness life.

Your presence

I wrote this POEM because I missed someone who is special to me. Because I really miss her presence her presence that makes me happy, that is why I entitled my poem YOUR PRESENCE

Your presence
By Jolly Genterola

When you are here
 I appreciate you presence
Your presence that makes sense
And all of my senses awaken
Because of you presence

Your presence is my JOY
My joy is only your presence
Your presence that makes me happy
Happiness that will last for ever

For ever and ever
Tour presence will remain in me
And I will never forget your lovely presence
Because you makes me happy

Reflection:

Gospel:
Matthew 5:43-48

Reflection:
“Love you enemies, pray for your persecutor.” When we talk about Love this word is so very powerful that sometimes it can change lives, inspires and sometimes it builds us fire, destruction, problems, difficulties and hardships. Indeed each and every one of us we are called to Love, to love ourselves and also others. Loving others and ourselves it builds good relationships and it burst our self-confidence and most of all we know ourselves better. However sometimes love brings to us destruction most especially when people over used it. For example you have you bf/gf and because you are not contented to love one you find another gf/bf to another love one at the end you are being coughed by having dual relation. I am sure that this word will slap at your face “who among us do you love you most?” hence through this experience ire ill bring to you confusion and you cannot focus. Indeed the result of this it destroys your life because it brings hurts.
In our gospel today it will remind us to this commandment the commandment of LOVE. In fact we cannot Love without forgiveness. Hence if we forgive someone it means that you love him/her and you welcome them to dwell in your life. Even that’s you enemy that sometimes it makes you crazy but Jesus said Love those who persecutes you and pray for your enemies because our gospel to day speaks all about “Love you enemies and pray for your persecutor.”
As a challenge to all of us we are called to Love not only to love others but learn how to forgive them and most of all pray for them. Always remember that Jesus loves us. As a sign of his love to us he suffered and died on the cross because his love to us is immeasurable.

Reflection

Gospel:
         Matthew 5:20-26

Reflection :
In our life we really fall in committing sin. In fact temptation is everywhere because temptation is always in our side whether we like it or not. Devil is very cunning for those who really love the Lord and he will do his very best to tempt us and to fall into his trap.
Our gospel today remind us not to commit sin most especially killing human`s life. Indeed murder is mortal sin. According to CCC article 5, 2288 it says that human life is sacred because it is beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remain for ever in special relationship with the creation. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end and no one can under any circumstance. Claim him the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.
It is very clear in this article that we are not allowed to ki8ll because human life is precious and sacred. Indeed God made us in his image and likeness and we are called to be Holy because our Father in heaven is Holy. Jesus invites us today to love our brothers and sisters and shares that love to everyone because I believe that through love it will create peace, harmony and it builds good relationship to all of us to live peacefully. Therefore don`t kill life but preserve life because God gave us life.

Reflection

Gospel:

 Reflection :

In this season of lent it gives us many graces and most of all to nurture and deepen our spiritual life through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In today`s gospel Jesus emphasize the value of good request. According to the gospel of Matthew “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be pen to you, for the one who ask, receives. The one who seek, finds. The one who knocks enters.
In our life we have so many request some are good and some are bad. Indeed request in our life they are lining up which one to ask first and which is more important. Hence sometimes our request for our parents they are not being granted for example I like that shoes and a mother refuse to but it so in return we feel bad because our request was not being ranted.
Indeed our gospel today reminds us not to be discouraged and be patient in asking request because Matthew says “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be pen to you, for the one who ask, receives. The one who seek, finds. The one who knocks enters.
See it is very clear don`t be discourage but be hopeful because I believe at the end our wish or our request will come true because God knows where to give and not to give our request. He knows what the best is really for each and every one of us.

Reflection:

Gospel:

Reflection:
In our gospel today it talks about repentance. Jonah preaches to the people of Nineveh to repent. In fact the Ninevites  are sinners but because Jonah really preach to them  and communicate to them to repent at the end it change their heart to believe what Jonah told them and the Ninevites repent for their sins that they have committed indeed even their king himself repent also.
Repentance is not only for the Ninevites but repentance is for all of us. In this season of Lent Jesus is the new Jonah of our generation he preach to us to repent for all the sins that we committed and wrong doings that we have donned against our parents, teachers, friends, classmates, neighbours and most of to God. Hence repentance it will not begin tomorrow but it will begin today. Now na! There’s a famous saying it would say “don`t wait for tomorrow if you can do it today because tomorrow is the another day”.
As a challenge to all of us act now or repent now who knows today is our last day here on earth. Going to confession is one way of repenting ourselves. It can be through our prayers, penances and also in almsgiving. Indeed there are so many ways in-order to prepare ourselves to welcome the Lord and to be one in him in his suffering in this season of Lent. At the end it will depends on us which one we will choose which one is the best among the rest.

Reflection:

Gospel:
              (Matthew 6:7-17)

Reflection:
In this season of lent we will practice prayer, fasting and almsgiving in-order to nurture our spiritual life. In our gospel today it talks about the value of prayer. Prayer is to communicate with Lord. Indeed through prayer it helps us know more about Jesus and most of all it builds good relationship between God. In fact Jesus taught us how to pray indeed he introduce to us the Lord`s prayer commonly known as Our Father. Jesus himself made this prayer for all of us.
In the lord`s prayer there are four elements that Jesus emphasize and they are called ACTS. Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving and Supplication as we pray the father we adore God as we say “Our father who art in heaven hollow be thy name thy kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”. We thank him for all the blessings that he gave it to us every day for the food that we eat, good health etc. Contrition as we ask God`s forgiveness of our sins that we have done against him and to our neighbour. Lastly supplication we ask God for guidance, safety as we travel every day and most of all security as we say “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Jesus invites us today to pray to be one in him to our prayers, let pray together the prayer that Jesus himself taught us. “Our father who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil Amen.”

Reflection:

Gospel:
            Matthew25:31-46

Reflection:
”Love your brothers and your sisters as you love yourself” Jesus remind us to day “what you did to my least brothers and sisters, you did it to me”. In this gospel according to Matthew for me this is the synopsis of the gospel today. Indeed Jesus is present in every people whom we meet every day especially those most really need our help very much. The poor, aged, the sick, dying, beggars, vendors, driver, and those people who in prison. These are our least brothers and sisters who really need our help both physical and spiritual help. Indeed I can say that they are hunger for food to satisfy their hunger, hunger of respect of other people because sometimes I really believe that they feel being outcast in their family and in our society. They are thirst for love by someone whom they loved very much and most of all they need a welcoming hands and heart to welcome them fully with whole heart and open hands to accept them with LOVE.
In this month of Lent a day of prayer, penance and almsgiving the Lord invites us not to focus for ourselves but to remember our least brothers and sisters to help them. Indeed there are so many ways in giving and sharing our help to them and one of so many ways prayer is one of them. As we pray for ourselves we also include in our prayer our least brothers and sisters that the Lord will give each and every one of us good health both in mind and body and most of all food both in our physical body and to our spiritual who needed all the more I believe that both are hunger all the more our spirit who are looking to its satisfy its hunger. This is the time and a proper season to give food to our spiritual aspect.
“Walk is you talk” a famous wisdom from the old it is simple but it is very difficult to follow. In fact there some people who are very good in promise, to promise other people that they will do this but at the end it did not happen. Indeed a true service in-order to help others heartily with a great joy in our face and our hearts Charity is the best key to it. The best example to this as we give Charity to other people we should give drink to those who are thirsty, give food to those who are hungry, give clothing to those who  are naked and visit those in prison. It is very clear in our gospel today Jesus reminds us that “what you did to my least brothers and sisters, you did it to me” therefore we should Love our brothers and our sisters as we love yourself because Jesus is present to the people whom we meet every day.

Frozen

I made this POEM because I was inspired by the movie FROZEN.  I hope you like it enjoy reading…!!
Frozen
By: Jolly Genterola

Every time I saw you
I cannot move my body
I felt that my body is frozen
Because you are there

When you look at me
I also look unto you
When you smile at me
I smile back unto you

When you call my name
My heart beat so fast
And I also call your name to
But at the end I realize
That my heart is frozen unto you

Every time you approach me
I am frozen because you are there
My whole body is shaking
Maybe because of the bad weather

Thanks be to God you are here
I am so thankful
Because for your coldly presence
It frozen me here

I want to touch you but
I can`t because when
I came closer to you I am frozen by my LOVE
At the end I realize
I am frozen by your LOVE
And I am frozen because
I LOVE you very much.

“A pessimist person sees the difficulty in very opportunity. However an optimism person sees the opportunity in every difficulty”. Wins Churchill
During our first study period I already finished my reflection #     3     this reflection was I reflected in the gospel of today. In this gospel according to LUKE   11: 12-32 it simply talks about repentance. Indeed to repent in our sins that we committed against others and to God repentance it will not start tomorrow but it will begin today.

Indeed after some moment of silence I realize that I already fall asleep and our brother assistant woke me up for 2nd time already. What I did in-order to fight my sleepiness is that I get my book that asp. Judy lend it to me the title of the book the greatest leader ever this book is all about the principle of the Christian athletes’ and the most interesting to this book because all of them are professional in different kinds of sports. And in this book I read this principle it says that “A pessimist person sees the difficulty in very opportunity. However an optimism person sees the opportunity in every difficulty”. Wins Churchill

I made the poem because I am inspired and it reminds me something.
It reminds me of you
By: Jolly P. Genterola
In everything I do
In everywhere I go
It reminds me of you
Evert night and day I spend my
Time wondering around
Running, walking, playing and doing whatever I want
Still it reminds me of you
Why, why, why
I don`t know why
And why is that I cannot wipe you away
Your name here in my mind and heart
In my whole life
I never touch you even saw you in real
But I talk to you here in my heart
Every minute and every second
Beating of my heart
It reminds me of you
Who are you? That I cannot eradicate your name
Here in my heart and in my mind?
But always remember that here I am waiting for your coming
Because it reminds me of you!

Journal 5

Today is our monthly recollection it was given by our very own Bro. Vince Sabal, SDB. His topic is all about prayer and the bottom line of his talk how`s our prayer life and our relationship with Lord. Indeed after of his talk he gave us this activity entitled FAITHBOK here we can updater our faith status with the Lord, who are our friends who guide and strengthen our faith, what are the gifts that we have received, blessings and our dreams in life, what is our word of life and I wrote in my FATHBOOK account my principle I believe I myself, I will never give up, I can do great things because Jesus is with me”. I enjoy this activity because it makes sense to know if our faith is still burning or not. For me it’s a really good because through this activity I can say that Jesus LOVES us whether we like it or not and therefore I am still in-Love with the LORD.

Journal # 4

“Whoever wishes to be my follower must deny his very self, take up his cross each day and follow in my step”. In our gospel today Jesus reminds us this phrase. Jesus will suffer and died and be raised on the third day.
As a challenge to each and every one of us in following Christ is not easy we will journey in the road of problems, difficulties, hardships and most of all we carry our own cross. However at the end we will be raised up if we believe in Christ.
In this day also we commemorate Dominic Savio small boy but giant in faith. Dominic Savio was a great student of Don Bosco. Indeed Dominic he followed Christ all of his life, he deny himself and he carry also his cross at the end he became a saint. He has known as St. Dominic Savio.
In today’s gospel according to Luke Jesus said “whoever loses his life for my sake will save” indeed St. Dominic Savio did it he follow Christ even to deny himself from worldly things and most of all  to commit sin one of his famous word “Death rather than sin”. And now he is now enjoying his life there in heaven.

Let us pray for the intercession of St. Dominic Savio a little boy but gigantic in his faith to the Lord that he will help us, inspires us, encourage us, strengthen us to follow the footsteps of the Lord with mature faith and LOVE with in our hearts.

Journal entry # 3 "Ash Wednesday"

This day we begin the Holy season of Lent a day of payer, penance and abstinence. Also in this day Ashes will be put on our fore heads as a sign that we are came from dust and then we return to dust. Ashes are a sign that we humble ourselves in front of our Lord Jesus Christ that we are sinners.
Here in the seminary we have penances as a community and also as an individual. Our community penance is no morning snacks, one viand every lunch and only soup during our dinner. For me it’s really difficult because eating is one of my hobbies and I love to eat delicious food.  However because in this season we are called to do penances with open heart I will fully accept it because I believe that is for the greater Glory of God  and for the salvation of souls in the purgatory.
